Khalid Jameer
I'm a Software Engineer
About
I'm Khalid Jameer, a software engineer from Queens, New York. I have primarily worked on creating educational tools in JS and Python. In addition to teaching fullstack web development, I have been working with a small team to continuously build and maintain codetrack.dev, a public platform designed for coders for progress tracking and supports consistency with their long term projects. A recent project that I am proud to share is my enhancements on Codetrack. I have built out new features and refactored the code, as well as initiating and ensuring the completion of the API documentation site. I also refactored large portions of the API to adhere to contemporary code standards and boost performance. Making these changes was very fun, and they propelled me to study and understand the existing codebase deeply. Furthermore, I learned to proactively and independently conduct research and implement new best practices, and made critical API design decisions that would impact the future of the app. I am happy to instill this positive and inquisitive engineering culture at my workplace, and my students have also begun contributing to Codetrack under my mentorship. This has given me the opportunity to incorporate and emphasize a product-oriented mindset to our future work and projects, as well as gain valuable experiences leading an engineering team.
